1. Who controls your data
Irish Driving Test Finder, trading as Irish Driving Test Finder, is the controller of personal data described in this policy.
- Privacy enquiries: [email protected]
- Customer support: [email protected]
2. Information we collect
Account and contact details
We collect your name, email address, contact number, password hash, account status and communications with support. The contact number is used for account and booking support where necessary. Service notifications are sent by email.
Booking and preference details
We collect the MyRoadSafety and booking information required for the plan you choose, including your current centre or appointment, selected centres, acceptable dates and times, and the details needed to access or manage an authorised booking. Credentials and sensitive identifiers are protected in storage and access is restricted.
Payment and order details
We store order amount, currency, plan, payment status, Stripe identifiers, consent records and transaction timestamps. Stripe processes your card details. We do not store your full card number or security code.
Website and security data
We may collect IP address, device and browser information, referrer, landing page, page activity, session events, security logs and cookie identifiers. This helps us operate the site, diagnose faults, understand journeys and prevent abuse.
3. Why we use personal data
- to create and secure your account;
- to monitor for appointments that match your preferences;
- to send Notify emails or manage an authorised AutoBook reschedule;
- to process payment, receipts, refunds and disputes;
- to provide support and keep service records;
- to maintain security, prevent fraud and investigate misuse;
- to measure and improve site reliability and customer journeys; and
- to meet tax, accounting, legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Legal bases
We process data where it is necessary to perform the service contract, comply with law, protect legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, or act on your consent where consent is required. You can withdraw optional marketing consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.
5. Who receives data
We do not sell personal data. We use selected processors only where needed to run the service, including:
- Stripe for payment processing and payment-risk controls;
- hosting, database, backup and security providers;
- transactional email and mailbox providers;
- website measurement and error-diagnostic providers when configured; and
- customer-support and operational tooling used by authorised staff.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to establish or defend legal claims, or to protect customers and systems. MyRoadSafety and the RSA operate their own services and privacy practices.
6. International transfers
Some processors may handle data outside Ireland or the European Economic Area. Where required, we use an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.
7. How long data is kept
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose collected. Active account, booking and service records are retained while the service is being supplied. Payment, consent, tax, security and dispute records may be retained longer where needed to meet legal obligations or protect claims. Technical analytics are reduced or deleted according to operational retention settings.
When information is no longer required, it is deleted, anonymised or isolated from normal use. You may request deletion, but some records may need to be retained for legal or financial reasons.
8. Security
We use access controls, encrypted transport, protected credentials, restricted administration, monitoring and backups. No online system is risk-free, but we review controls and limit access to people and systems that need the information.
9. Cookies and measurement
Essential cookies keep sessions, logins, checkout state and security controls working. If optional measurement services are enabled, they help us understand page visits, navigation and conversion performance. Browser settings can block cookies, but blocking essential cookies may stop account or checkout features from working.
10. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us to access, correct, erase, restrict or transfer your personal data, or object to particular processing. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis.
Send a request to [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity. You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
11. Policy changes
We update this policy when the service, processors or legal requirements materially change. The review date shows the latest substantive update.
